The Pillar Lamp by Henry Wilson explores soft, ambient lighting through natural, honest materiality. Thoughtfully designed to provide a warm, atmospheric glow - both from the light cast beneath the shade, and illumination of the stone from within, which reveals a subtle translucency.
Each lamp is hewn from two pieces of solid natural stone, left unsealed with its porous sections unfilled. A honed finish enhances the material’s natural tactility, complementing the lamp’s minimal form. As with all natural stone, colour and veining will vary between pieces.
Due to the qualities of natural stone each piece is entirely unique - with colour and veining varying piece to piece. Please contact us for further information or imagery of our stock.
Please note this piece is heavy, requiring considered packaging in transit and a sturdy display surface.

Otherwise, you will receive an order confirmation, and we will be in touch closer to completion to arrange collection or delivery.

Designer Profile
Henry Wilson is an Australian designer who creates furniture, lighting, accessories and components in metal, stone and glass; he has also designed interiors for two Aesop stores in Sydney. He has lived and worked in Sydney for more than 30 years; it is the place to which he habitually retreats, and where he feels most unfettered creatively.
Henry’s work is characterised in part by utilitarianism, with a clear form and function. But it is also important to him that it embodies feeling – he is interested in the imperfect beauty that comes from objects made by hand, and in the creation of pieces that retain a sense of individual charm while not compromising the robust framework required for manufacture.
Materials often speak for themselves, to evoke an intuitive response connected to their physical properties and design heritage. The anthropology of design has a linear narrative – contemporary designs and production methods stem from those that have come before – the act of design is a fluid exchange between inspirations, materials and production.

Shipping and Returns
We ship furniture and lighting orders nationwide within New Zealand. These are either shipped with a selected courier or fragile freight carrier, with the pricing dependent on the location, size and weight of the item/s. The total freight will be calculated at checkout for your order. We reserve the right to apply additional charges for rural, low service or difficult access.
We offer free collection from our Auckland Warehouse in Eden Terrace on Monday-Friday. Saturday collection of smaller items can be pre-arranged before end of day Thursday via our Furniture & Lighting Showroom.
Made to order or imported products are made to your unique requirements and cannot be cancelled after one business day from placing the order.
In stock product can be returned within 14 days, for a credit or exchange. Please choose carefully as we do not refund for change of mind. Products must be returned unused, with all original packaging and we reserve the right to refuse a return if the product does not meet our requirements.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser, unless the products received were damaged/faulty.
All sale purchases are final and not eligible for return or exchange. All sale goods are sold in as-new condition, however please note packaging may show signs of light wear.
Sale purchases are online only, stock will not be available at our retail locations.
Sale purchases will be dispatched in chronological order. Please allow 3-5 days for dispatch at this busy time, and then standard shipping timeframes will apply. Same day shipping is not available for sale items. Freight for oversized or large items, domestic or international, may incur additional charges. This will be invoiced to you and must be paid before the goods are dispatched.
