The Sur Sofa by Simon James is a modular sofa system that allows you to build and create the ideal configuration for your home. Subtle sculptural curves are offset by the grounded form and generous size, creating a sofa that is both inviting and refined.
Modules are united by a common base plinth, which appears to hover just off the floor, this builds the visual foundation of the sofa.
The seat and back are comprised of multi-density foam and feather fill, designed to offer superior comfort. Subtle curves to the backrests and arms further add to this sculptural visual language.
The Sur Sofa is available as a standard 2 and 3-seater, as well as various modular configurations. Throw cushions are sold separately.
Simon James infuses character into clean, uncomplicated forms. Having founded his eponymous brand in 2001, Simon’s appreciation of craftsmanship continues to deepen, as he explores material tactility in new and exciting ways. His design approach is largely intuitive, with people and their experiences of a space a central focus for him.
Simon designs original furniture for both residential and commercial spaces under the Simon James Design name and collaborates regularly with businesses and architects on custom work.
He is Creative Director of export furniture and lighting brand Resident, which was co-founded with Scott Bridgens. In both companies, Simon leads a team of designers and it is this collaborative spirit that drives his innovative, award-winning work.
All sales purchases are final and not eligible for return or exchange. All sale goods are sold in as-new condition, however please note packaging may show signs of light wear.

Same day shipping is not available for sale items. Freight for oversized or large items, domestic or international, may incur additional charges. We ship furniture and lighting orders nationwide within New Zealand. These are either shipped with a selected courier or fragile freight carrier, with the pricing dependent on the location, size and weight of the item/s. The total freight will be calculated at checkout for your order. We reserve the right to apply additional charges for rural, low service or difficult access.
We offer free collection from our Auckland Warehouse in Eden Terrace on Monday-Friday. Saturday collection of smaller items can be pre-arranged before end of day Thursday via our Furniture & Lighting Showroom.
Returns Made to order or imported products are made to your unique requirements and cannot be cancelled after one business day from placing the order.
In stock product can be returned within 14 days, for a credit or exchange. Please choose carefully as we do not refund for change of mind. Products must be returned unused, with all original packaging and we reserve the right to refuse a return if the product does not meet our requirements. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser, unless the products received were damaged/faulty.
