The w224 Alto Pendant by Wastberg is the epitome of purism: a small cylindrical body boasting an impressive indirect light, capable of filling a whole room with soft, balanced illumination.
Based on the brutalist-inspired aesthetics of the w164 Alto Floor Lamp, w224's design is defined by its central, artfully engineered heat sink - crafted from solid die-cast aluminium, with vertical pins geometrically aligned to allow for effective thermal management. Multi-directional LED technology allows a super wide-angle, even light distribution, with four powerful COBs providing an indirect light of 11000 lm - powerful enough to illuminate a large room, but also dimmable for a more atmospheric ambience.
The w224 Alto is available with a ceiling mounted or recessed canopy, in two lengths and finishes.

When your order is placed, we will review and be in touch if there are any changes to the noted lead time, such as fabric availability or orders placed after Christmas manufacturing deadlines. Otherwise you will receive a confirmation of your order and we will touch base closer to completion to arrange collection or delivery.

Designer Profile
Dirk Winkel is a Berlin-based product designer who graduated from the Royal College of Art London, MA Design Products in 2010. Specialized in lighting and furniture design, he set up his design office in Berlin in summer 2011. Driven by the idea of formal purism as a basic principle of sustainability, his great interests are the exploration of pushing the boundaries of mass production techniques, the rethinking of light and lighting paradigms, and the investigation of new materials and their ecological and design potential. His work has won numerous awards and nominations such as the Swedish Design Award (Svensk Form), Designs of the Year (London Design Museum), the German Design Award (Special Mention) and the Editors‘ Choice Award (Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair).

Shipping and Returns
Made to order or imported products are made to your unique requirements and cannot be cancelled after one business day from placing the order.
In stock product can be returned within 14 days, for a credit or exchange. Please choose carefully as we do not refund for change of mind. Products must be returned unused, with all original packaging and we reserve the right to refuse a return if the product does not meet our requirements.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser, unless the products received were damaged/faulty.
We ship furniture and lighting orders nationwide within New Zealand. These are either shipped with a selected courier or fragile freight carrier, with the pricing dependent on the location, size and weight of the item/s. The total freight will be calculated at checkout for your order. We reserve the right to apply additional charges for rural, low service or difficult access.
We offer free collection from our Auckland Warehouse in Eden Terrace on Monday-Friday. Saturday collection of smaller items can be pre-arranged before end of day Thursday via our Furniture & Lighting Showroom.
All sale purchases are final and not eligible for return or exchange. All sale goods are sold in as-new condition, however please note packaging may show signs of light wear.
Sale purchases are online only, stock will not be available at our retail locations.
Sale purchases will be dispatched in chronological order. Please allow 3-5 days for dispatch at this busy time, and then standard shipping timeframes will apply. Same day shipping is not available for sale items. Freight for oversized or large items, domestic or international, may incur additional charges. This will be invoiced to you and must be paid before the goods are dispatched.
