Spindle Stool
BassamFellows
The Spindle collection by BassamFellows was born out of a visit to Louis Kahn’s Exeter Library, where designer Craig Bassam was inspired by the juxtaposition of a traditional Windsor chair against a Brutalist architecture backdrop.
Creating a similar frisson between old and new, the seat's design is simplified to its essence. The legs and spindles are as slender as possible and crafted from metal rather than wood, weightlessly supporting the carved timber seat and back. The result is an updated Modernist classic that draws an elegant, refined line across three centuries.
The Spindle collection comprises a dining chair, stool, and low back stool, in a variety of finishes. Upholstery options are available upon request. Each chair and stool is engineered with a commercial grade return swivel for ease of use and a neat appearance, also making them a highly practical solution for hospitality environments.
