In Brief with Milly Hewat-Wall

Milly Hewat-Wall, Co-founder and Director of boutique creative agency Someday Studios, has been a collaborator and client of Simon James for many years.

Milly works across events and publicity with ease and sophistication, curating events or crafting a concept with refinement and charm.

We enjoyed catching up with Milly about her five favourite things to launch our In Brief conversation series for 2025.

"These have been on my wishlist for a while now. I love Jessica’s playful approach to fine jewellery, the hearts are a long time favourite (and would match my engagement ring). I love JM’s ambassador Zoe Kravitz approach to layering jewellery. A party for your ears!"

"An interesting centrepiece for my dining table, or kitchen bench. My mother has always had vessels like this to display summer fruits in our kitchen at home. Piled high with summer stone fruit, this Morihata version has a handcrafted organic look that I love."

"This is the coolest iteration I’ve seen of this balloon hem trend. Its the softest cotton, and the wide band sits beautifully on the hips.. Dress it up with a cropped blazer, or throw on after a swim with your bikini top or swimsuit."

"I’m very low maintenance with my hair. Sometimes too much so, especially as I have long hair at the moment. I’ve taught myself to do a French twist and this Sophie Buhai comb is a cool, no-fuss way to look a little more polished with very little effort."

"We recently moved to a smaller office – a converted apartment that has exposed wooden sarking in a heritage building in Ponsonby. We’re leaning into the quirkiness of it, with a mix of modern and vintage furniture and lighting. I would love this floor lamp to compliment the Turkish rugs and white floors to bring a refined touch."
