2025 In Review

As the year comes to a close we would like to thank you for being part of the Simon James community, and reflect on some of the highlights from our team for 2025.

In March we launched a new collection from Simon James, introducing the modular Sur Sofa, Portrait Chair, Paperback Armless Chair and the Block Dining Chair and Stool. These new profiles explore Brutalist forms with a refined materiality, clean lines and thoughtful proportions.

In April we hosted renowned fashion designer Emilia Wickstead at the showroom for an In Conversation event and we also travelled to Milan's Salone del Mobile to meet with our international furniture partners, discover new releases, and gather inspiration.

In May we partnered with May Art Fair, to host a special preview of their new gallery-led art fair that hosted fifteen galleries from Aotearoa, Australia and the United Kingdom.

We added two new international lighting brands in the showroom - Wästberg and Kaia expanding our portfolio of lighting in the showroom.

In September, we launched Phoebe Philo ready-to-wear, bags, shoes and accessories at our Herne Bay store, evolving our edit of fashion and accessories at Simon James.

In October we previewed Jessica McCormack's captivating high jewellery collection Tempest with an immersive presentation at our Herne Bay store.

International brand partners Ariake, Resident and Mattiazzi released new profiles in October and we hosted the Lexus Design Awards in November, an evening that celebrated tertiary design talent.

In December, to celebrate the festive season, we hosted a special collection of contemporary art curated by gallerist Sarah Hopkinson of Coastal Signs alongside a special collection of Jessica McCormack diamond jewellery - bringing a sense of the artful Jessica McCormack townhouse to our Herne Bay store.

We profiled Studio Œ, Emilia Wickstead and Michaël Verheyden as part of our In Conversation series; providing insights into the designers and founders of our brands.

We welcomed over 20 new designs to the showroom from Simon James, Ariake, Mattiazzi, Resident, Wästberg and Kaia, with the highly anticipated Daybed from BassamFellows arriving later this month.

Have a wonderful and restful holiday season and see you in 2026!
