The Fulcrum Lamp is the modern re-expression of an archetype. Its free formed silhouette and re-positionable shade allow it to take on new forms from every angle, rendering it equally at home on an antique side table or plywood bench.
Fulcrums shade can be rotated with the gentle sweep of a finger, raising the light output from a soft glow to full brightness as the shade pivots through a sequence of cantilevered compositions.
Executed with a Japanese paper shade and either a sand-cast bronze or cork base, the Fulcrum Lamp uses its classically rooted two-part format to explore a rich dialect of material and mass.

We hold a range of items in stock from all the brands we work with, these focus on product such as dining chairs, coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, lighting, outdoor furniture, beds barstools and a small amount of upholstered items. These can normally be ready for dispatch with in 3 - 4 days as receiving an order.
Made to Order
We work slightly differently to some other retailers where most of our upholstered items are made to order, this way we can produce a product that is unique to you. This process starts with understanding your requirements and our consultants offering furniture solutions that are best suited to you. In terms of fabric there are many possibilities outside of what you just see on this site and we are happy to discuss what will work best for you and your environment.
We strive to keep a selection of our best sellers from the import brands we work with in stock, but to keep this range diverse we aren’t able to hold all items in stock, so a number of our imported items will have lead time out of Europe. We can provide further lead time information during the time of enquiring as this can vary depending on the time of the year.
Cheshire Architects move organically from huge institutional and urban master-planning work to the digital fabrication of bespoke door handles and the hand-finishing of furniture. This is a practice formed around the depth of its ideologies, rather than the thinness of styles and project types. They operate across fields of luxury and poverty, newness and age, roughness and refinement, running parallel programs of research, writing, lecturing, publishing and university teaching. Cheshire was founded in New Zealand in 2004, conceived as a fluid and fast-moving studio for the delivery of special projects across all scales.
