Cocoon
By

Cocoon brings unexpected dimension to the classic woven rug. Designer Hella Jongerius sought to ‘create a layered and tactile woolen landscape with soft knots’, which is accentuated by a generous border.
Long, pure wool yarn has been spun from two colours in either statement contrast or calmer tone-on-tone combinations. It is then felted for a smooth and comfortable texture before being knotted into irregular clusters. The result is both dramatic and durable.

Ordering process
Stocked Items
We hold a range of items in stock from all the brands we work with, these focus on product such as dining chairs, coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, lighting, outdoor furniture, beds barstools and a small amount of upholstered items. These can normally be ready for dispatch with in 3 - 4 days as receiving an order.
Made to Order
We work slightly differently to some other retailers where most of our upholstered items are made to order, this way we can produce a product that is unique to you. This process starts with understanding your requirements and our consultants offering furniture solutions that are best suited to you. In terms of fabric there are many possibilities outside of what you just see on this site and we are happy to discuss what will work best for you and your environment.
Imported Product
We strive to keep a selection of our best sellers from the import brands we work with in stock, but to keep this range diverse we aren’t able to hold all items in stock, so a number of our imported items will have lead time out of Europe. We can provide further lead time information during the time of enquiring as this can vary depending on the time of the year.
Get in touch to discuss any of these options further.

Hella Jongerius
Hella Jongerius’s research on colours, materials, and textures is never complete. All her questions are open-ended, and all her answers provisional, taking the form of finished and semi-finished products. These are part of a never-ending process, and the same is essentially true of all Jongeriuslab designs: they possess the power of the final stage, while also communicating that they are part of something greater, with both a past and an uncertain future. The unfinished, the provisional, the possible – they hide in the attention for imperfections, traces of the creation process, and the revealed potential of materials and techniques. Through this working method, Jongerius not only celebrates the value of the process, but also engages the viewer, the user, in her investigation.
